Internet users in Pakistan are experiencing severely slow speeds and have voiced their concerns to service providers.
Recently, two incidents involved cuts in fibre-optic cables connecting Pakistan to a global network. These incidents have significantly worsened internet connectivity issues across the nation. The cuts are affecting both mobile and landline internet users significantly.
Many individuals, particularly remote workers and freelancers, feel the impact of these disruptions. Service providers are working to repair the damaged cables via Dubai and Oman, including those on the SMW Four and SMW Fa routes.
Additionally, several major telecom companies have informed users about the reduced internet speeds due to these submarine cable cuts.
