The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will conclude tonight, marking the end of two exhilarating weeks. The Games opened with a ceremony that captivated the globe and will close with an equally impressive event beginning at 9 PM local time (3 PM ET) in the French capital.
The closing ceremony will spotlight performances from iconic artists. As reported by Variety, Snoop Dogg, who was integral to the opening ceremony, will return for the closing. Billie Eilish and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are also slated to perform, promising a memorable musical showcase.
Tom Cruise will participate, not as a singer, but performing an acrobatic stunt that includes a pre-recorded parachuting sequence. This segment is directed by Ben Wiston, known for his work on the Grammy Awards and ‘Adele: One Night Only’.
Unprecedented Closure to the Olympic Games
The closing ceremony, described by the International Olympic Committee as “unprecedented and monumental,” will attract up to 80,000 spectators to the Stade de France. The venue will transform into a 2,800-square-meter stage for this grand finale.
Alongside the stellar performances, the ceremony will include the traditional parade of athletes and a tribute to the volunteers. Medal presentations and a unique art show directed by Thomas Jolly, who orchestrated the opening, are also on the agenda. Over 2,000 personnel will manage the ceremony, ensuring a spectacular end to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
