Yesterday, when the rangers raided the MQM head office, “Nine Zero,” they faced no resistance.
However, as they were leaving, they were confronted with a crowd of charged workers, and at least one Ranger personnel fired warning shots in the air with his service rifle.
The next moment a single shot from a small caliber firearm was heard, and a prominent party worker, 25-year-old Waqas Shah, was lying dead on the ground with blood gushing from a face wound.
The video shows the shooter is not the rangers man firing in the air. Besides, the bullet has been fired from a handgun. And the paramilitary rangers insisted they were not armed with those.
Young Waqas was fond of Urdu literature and poetry. One of eight siblings, he was due to be engaged this weekend and married within the next six months.
