Meta’s WhatsApp is introducing a new design for the typing indicator in both individual and group chats, which is now available to some beta testers.
Previously, when users typed in a chat, the indicator appeared at the top of the app under the group name, according to WABetaInfo. The update moves the indicator into the conversation screen as a chat bubble, allowing users to see who is typing without shifting focus from the chat.
This change also extends to the voice recording indicator, which now displays similarly within the chat interface, ensuring consistency in user experience for both typing and recording.
The update also enhances visibility in group chats; when multiple users are typing, their profile icons appear within the chat, clearly showing all active participants.
This update reflects WhatsApp’s commitment to enhancing the dynamic of conversations by integrating features that allow real-time interaction feedback.
