Meta has announced a new feature for its popular messaging app, WhatsApp, allowing users to share photos in high-definition (HD). Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s CEO, unveiled the update through his Instagram broadcast and a Facebook post.
After successfully beta testing the feature with a select group of users, WhatsApp is set to release the HD photo-sharing option globally in the coming weeks.
How to Use the HD Photo Feature
- Ensure you have the latest version of WhatsApp installed.
- While sharing a photo, look for the new “HD” icon alongside other editing tools.
- Tapping this icon will present two resolution options: standard quality (1600 x 1052) and HD quality (4096 x 2692), as reported by WABetaInfo.
Users can be assured privacy, as WhatsApp’s standard end-to-end encryption protects HD photos. Additionally, WhatsApp plans to extend this HD feature to video sharing soon.
