WhatsApp is set to introduce AI-powered enhancements, bringing spectacular new features such as stickers and a chatbot to its platform. These updates have been launched in beta versions of the app, yet they remain accessible to a limited audience.
Meta’s WhatsApp, consistently updated to enhance user engagement, remains indispensable for millions globally for daily communications. Its ongoing evolution includes AI-enhanced features like stickers and chatbots, albeit in beta versions and not universally accessible. Android Police highlights that beta iterations have been enriched with AI-powered image editing capabilities since September.
In its latest beta iteration for Android, marked as v2.24.7.13, WhatsApp introduces a trio of innovative photo editing tools: Backdrop, Restyle, and Expand, as reported by Android Police.
These tools are unveiled to users when they update their status or share images with contacts.
A sparkle icon is at the forefront of these enhancements, integrated within the existing top-row editing options. This icon reveals the three new features upon interaction. Backdrop permits users to alter the photo’s background via text input, Restyle offers a comprehensive alteration of the image’s visual aesthetic, and Expand facilitates the enlargement of the image.
Despite introducing these features in the beta version, their availability to the broader user base remains pending. Consequently, their definitive appearance and official release date have yet to be determined, maintaining a sense of anticipation among users.
