WhatsApp account password protection will become a new security feature in the Android beta. Meta has released WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.26.7.8 through the Google Play Beta Program, revealing plans for stronger login safeguards.
The upcoming feature will allow users to create an alphanumeric password between six and 20 characters. Each password must include at least one letter and one number. WhatsApp will also provide strong feedback and let users update or delete their passwords at any time.
According to WABetaInfo, the password will always be required after entering the standard six-digit verification code during login.
How WhatsApp Account Password Protection Works
With WhatsApp account password protection, login security becomes more layered. If a user sets an account password without enabling two-step verification, WhatsApp will prompt for that password after the verification code.
However, if two-step verification (2FA) is already active, the process changes slightly. Users must first enter their 2FA PIN. Then, they will be asked to enter the account password.
Currently, WhatsApp allows users to secure accounts with a PIN and recovery email under two-step verification. The new password system adds another barrier against unauthorised access.
This update aims to reduce risks such as SIM swapping or device compromise. Even if someone obtains the six-digit code, they would still need the account password. As a result, hijacking attempts could become significantly harder.
Why Your iPhone Won’t Let You Decline Certain Calls
If your iPhone is locked, you may notice there is no “Decline” button. Instead, you only see “slide to answer.” This is intentional.
Apple shows Accept and Decline options only when the device is unlocked. When locked, the phone assumes you are not actively looking at the screen. Therefore, it prevents accidental taps.
You can still reject a call. Simply press the side button twice. Pressing it once silences the call, while pressing it twice declines it completely.

Apple introduced the “slide to answer” interface with iOS 6. Before that, incoming calls looked the same whether the phone was locked or unlocked. Over time, other smartphone makers adopted similar approaches.
How to Control an iPad With Your iPhone.
Apple also offers an accessibility feature that lets you control an iPad using your iPhone. Both devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and signed in to the same Apple account.
To enable it:
- Open Settings on your iPhone
- Tap Accessibility
- Select Control Nearby Devices
- Choose your iPad from the list
Although iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 include many updates, this feature remains focused on basic remote navigation and accessibility functions.
