Available on WhatsApp for iOS 25.19.75 and Android beta 2.25.207, the AI wallpaper feature allows users to create custom chat backgrounds using text prompts by navigating to Settings > Chats > Default chat theme > Create with AI. They have the option to swipe through AI-generated images, adjust brightness in dark mode, or regenerate designs. However, some prompts may lack colour or element accuracy, according to WABetaInfo. This feature is currently being tested in India and aims to enhance personalisation for 500 million users.
