On August 12, 2025, the West Indies achieved a convincing 202-run victory over Pakistan in the third ODI at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy. This victory marked the West Indies’ first ODI series win against Pakistan since 1991.
Roston Chase scored an unbeaten 120 runs, while Jayden Seales claimed his maiden six-wicket haul, finishing with figures of 6 wickets for 18 runs. Pakistan was bowled out for just 92 runs while chasing a target of 295. The series concluded with the West Indies winning 2-1.
The West Indies batted first after Pakistan won the toss and scored 294 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 50 overs. Justin Greaves also contributed to the total with an unbeaten 43 runs off 24 balls. In reply, Pakistan’s batting lineup struggled early on. Seales dismissed Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, and Mohammad Rizwan, leaving Pakistan in a tough position at 8 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. He later trapped Babar Azam for just 9 runs, as reported by ESPNcricinfo.
Pakistan’s captain, Mohammad Rizwan, acknowledged, “Seales made it difficult for us. Losing three early wickets cost us dearly.” Gudakesh Motie claimed two wickets, and the run-out of Abrar Ahmed by Chase marked the end of Pakistan’s batting collapse. Despite some early success with wickets taken by Abrar Ahmed and Mohammad Nawaz, Pakistan struggled to contain Hope and Greaves, who unleashed a late surge, scoring 110 runs in just 8.1 overs.
