The West Indies cricket team has arrived in Pakistan for their first Test series in 18 years, landing in Islamabad from Dubai. This two-match series is set to commence with games at Multan Cricket Stadium later this month.
As part of their preparations, the visitors will engage in a three-day practice match against the Pakistan Shaheens starting January 10. Both teams will convene in Islamabad by January 6, with the Pakistani team beginning their training sessions at the Islamabad Club on January 7. The Caribbean team will follow with intensive training on January 8 and 9.
This tour marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s cricket history, as it’s the first time the West Indies will play a Test series here since 2006.
Historically, Pakistan and the West Indies have faced each other in 54 Test matches. Pakistan leads with 21 victories, while the West Indies have clinched 18 wins, and 15 matches have ended in draws. The last Test series between these teams was held in 2021 in the Caribbean.
