KARACHI: The city is experiencing an additional 175 million gallon water shortage as K-Electric (KE) continues load shedding at water pumping stations.
The Water Board spokesman told Geo News that four hours of load shedding were being conducted at five city pumping stations. The spokesman added that the shortage would continue for at least 72 hours.
According to the MD Water Board, KE should not conduct load shedding at pumping stations as the city is already facing a daily shortage of 560 million gallons.
Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddqui has noticed the situation and contacted KE’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO). A spokesman for Commissioner House said KE had been directed to stop load shedding at pumping stations immediately.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said KE should change its attitude. Otherwise, the government would be forced to take action.
