On Tuesday, a water pipe burst at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, flooding the international departure lounge. Water accumulated in front of the immigration counters, causing inconvenience to passengers and staff.
The airport authority’s spokesperson reported that immediate action was taken to locate and isolate the damaged pipe by closing the isolation valve in the western section.
Staff employed buckets and wipers to manage the water, ensuring it did not spread.
Operations at the airport continued without disruption despite the incident.
The spokesperson noted that technical teams conducted prompt repairs while passenger movement proceeded smoothly. They quickly addressed water leakage in the domestic arrivals lounge.
The airport authority thanked passengers for their cooperation and committed to implementing further measures to avoid such incidents.
