Wasim Akram, a cricket icon from Pakistan, pinpointed the reason behind sparse crowds at Karachi’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 matches. Despite hosting two entertaining games, the National Bank Stadium in Karachi saw lower attendance than venues in Lahore and Multan.
The difficulty in accessing the stadium due to traffic and stringent security measures was highlighted by Fakhar-e-Alam during ‘The Pavilion’ show, which features Akram alongside Misbah-ul-Haq and Azhar Ali as panellists.
A shared video depicted the team’s failed attempt to reach the game, hindered by a 90-minute traffic delay, leading them to return to the studio. Akram humorously critiqued the reliance on containers for security, linking it to the low spectator numbers.
Fakhar-e-Alam’s caption on their ordeal stressed the absence of clear routes and the closures by containers, causing severe congestion. He appealed for a logical traffic plan, underscoring fans’ challenges in reaching the stadium.
