The Lahore High Court has challenged the appointment of former captain and fast bowler Waqar Younis as Advisor to the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The petition, filed by Advocate Nadeem Sarwar on behalf of citizen Mashkoor Hussain, names the federal government, the PCB, and Waqar Younis as respondents. It seeks to have the court overturn the appointment on grounds of legality.

The challenge arises from allegations that the PCB did not follow due process in appointing Waqar Younis. Specifically, the petitioner contends that the PCB failed to issue a public advertisement for the position and opted for a direct appointment.
