A post-match video from the ongoing tri-nation ODI series between Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.
The awkward presentation of the ‘Catch of the Match’ award to South African all-rounder Wiaan Mulder has gained attention following New Zealand’s victory over South Africa in the second series match; the video captures the official’s clumsiness during the event.
In the video, the official is seen holding the award check vertically while posing for a photo with Mulder. The South African player quickly noticed the mistake and politely asked the official to hold the check horizontally. However, the official took the check from Mulder and held it upside down, prompting the player to correct him again.
The award, worth 1 lakh PKR, was given to Mulder for his stunning catch to dismiss New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell. During the match, Mulder flew to his left near the boundary to take a spectacular catch, earning him well-deserved recognition.
