On Monday, an accountability court postponed its decision on a £190 million corruption case involving PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi.
The verdict, initially scheduled for announcement today, December 23, has been deferred to a later date.
Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana, who presided over the hearing at Adiala Jail, stated that the court is still drafting the verdict and will announce the new date for its release shortly.
The case revolves around allegations against Imran Khan and his wife, among others, involving the misuse of funds linked to the Al Qadir University Trust. This incident reportedly resulted in a £190 million loss to the national treasury.

The allegations indicate that the former prime minister and his co-accused improperly transferred Rs50 billion, or 190 million pounds, from Britain’s National Crime Agency to the government’s account.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) initiated the investigation, leading to the filing of a corruption reference against Imran Khan, his wife, and seven others concerning their involvement with Al-Qadir University.
This development followed the official registration of the Trust for the Al-Qadir University Project on December 26, 2019. The court’s final decision remains pending as the prosecution and defence have concluded their arguments.
