After months of speculation, tennis icon Venus Williams has officially confirmed her engagement. The legendary athlete is set to marry Italian actor and producer Andrea Preti.
Williams revealed the news on her official Instagram account. She marked the occasion by sharing four sweet photos, which also served as her first public post featuring her partner on the platform.
The couple has maintained a notably private relationship since rumours began. The first hint of their romance surfaced on July 27, 2024, when they were spotted sailing together along Italy’s Amalfi Coast.
Engagement speculation intensified in February 2025 after Williams was photographed in Italy wearing a diamond ring on her left hand. She provided a subtle confirmation in July of this year after a tennis match in Washington, D.C., telling the press, “My fiancé is here, and he really encouraged me to keep playing.”
Venus Williams made the engagement definitive with her recent Instagram post to her 2.1 million followers. The photo series shows the happy couple with their dog.
She captioned the images, “Engaged 1/31/25,” accompanied by a star emoji. In the pictures, Williams wears a short, flared white dress with her hair in a sleek half-updo. Andrea Preti appears in black pants, first paired with an animal-print shirt and later with a plain white shirt.
