In a distressing incident in Ahmedabad’s Science City, a vegetarian customer received a chicken sandwich instead of the Paneer Tikka sandwich that was ordered. The order was placed on May 3 through a food delivery app from a local café.
Nirali, who strictly follows a vegetarian diet, ordered the sandwich from her office. Upon eating, she noticed that the texture of the ‘paneer’ was unusually hard. Initially suspecting it might be soya, she soon realized it was chicken, a meat she had never consumed due to her dietary preferences.
Shocked by the mix-up, Nirali has taken legal steps by filing a complaint against the café. She is seeking damages for the distress caused by the incident. Additionally, she has contacted the Deputy Health Officer of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to escalate her grievance against the eatery’s oversight.
