The Vice Chancellor, Swat University Dr Jahan Bakht has suspended the Chief Proctor Hazrat Bilal for issuing a gender segregation notification.
On Friday, Chief Proctor issued a notification, barring all male and female students of University of Swat from sitting or walking together within the campuses or outside the campuses.
According to notification “If any student male or female found sitting or walking together in the campus or outside, a penalty ranging from Rs50 to Rs5000 will be imposed and an emergency meeting will be called with their parents,”
Taking notice of the issue, the vice chancellor suspended the chief proctor and withdrew the notification.
The vice chancellor said that there was no ban on co-education in the University of Swat.
