On the second day of the grand opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), stars from both Bollywood and Hollywood gathered to celebrate the occasion.
Attendees included Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Zendaya, Tom Holland, and Gigi Hadid.
A particular incident during the event sparked controversy when Varun Dhawan, star of Judwaa 2, invited Gigi Hadid on stage, lifted her in his arms, and kissed her cheek.
Some audience members appreciated the gesture; others criticized Dhawan for not seeking Hadid’s consent beforehand. As a result, the video quickly went viral on social media, with users expressing their disapproval and questioning Dhawan’s actions.
Responding to the backlash, Dhawan explained that the act had been pre-planned and encouraged critics to focus on other causes. Hadid later thanked Dhawan on Instagram for making her “Bollywood dreams come true.”
Dhawan performed the popular song ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’ at the event alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh. He was joined by his wife, Natasha Dalal, and his mother. Despite the criticism, the star-studded gala was a resounding success, creating a memorable experience for all in attendance.
