Pakistan’s unbeaten boxing sensation Usman Wazeer announced he will defend his WBC OPBF Silver title on home soil in November.
The 24-year-old, with a perfect 17-0 record, won the belt in Thailand earlier this year by knocking out Indonesia’s Stevie Ferdinandus in the 10th round. “I trusted my stamina and game plan,” Wazeer recalled. “From the fourth round, I controlled and finished him at 2:22.”
The fight, broadcast on DAZN to 168 countries, elevated Wazeer’s global profile. “I’m confident about defending my title and making history in Pakistan,” he said, crediting coach and team preparations for his 18th bout.

Wazeer thanked the ACTIVIT sports and health program, led by Dr Rizwan Aftab Ahmed, for sponsoring his last four international wins. “Their financial and medical support boosts my morale,” he noted. ACTIVIT aids athletes’ development, aligning with Pakistan’s sports growth.
From Gilgit-Baltistan to Global Stage
Born in Astore, Gilgit-Baltistan, Wazeer switched from football to boxing in 2015 and won the Islamabad and HEC championships in 2017. British-Pakistani icon Amir Khan invited him to train at his Islamabad academy. Since turning pro in 2019, Wazeer claimed WBC Middle East, WBO World Youth, and WBA Asia Welterweight titles, defeating foes from India, Indonesia, Thailand, Tanzania, and Malaysia.
“This fight raises Pakistan’s flag on our soil,” Wazeer said. “I’ll correct weaknesses for perfection—not just for Gilgit-Baltistan, but all Pakistan.”
Wazeer’s defence boosts boxing’s visibility in Pakistan, inspiring youth amid limited sports infrastructure. His success highlights private initiatives like ACTIVIT in nurturing talent.
