The Usher defends Diddy trial controversy has drawn fresh attention as the singer publicly supported Sean “Diddy” Combs during his ongoing legal battles. Usher said the music mogul has been misrepresented, despite serious allegations and a recent conviction.
In an interview, Usher stressed that his personal experience with Combs differs from the public narrative. He acknowledged flaws but highlighted Diddy’s influence as a businessman and cultural figure.
Sean Combs, founder of Bad Boy Records, was convicted in October 2025. The court sentenced him to 50 months in prison after finding him guilty on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution.

Usher’s Remarks on Diddy’s Legacy
Usher defended Combs by focusing on his contributions to business and culture. He said many people benefited from what Diddy created and credited him for shaping entrepreneurial thinking.
He added that his own early understanding of business came from observing Combs’ work. While acknowledging imperfections, Usher said he chooses to remember the positive impact.
The trial began in May 2025 and featured testimony from 34 witnesses. Several accused Combs of drug distribution, physical abuse, and sexual misconduct.
A key moment involved testimony from Cassandra Ventura, who described a 2016 assault. Her statements lasted four days and became central to the case. Combs’ legal team admitted he had a history of domestic violence. However, they argued that he was not formally charged for that specific offence.
