The United States Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Department of State and Pakistan’s Ministry of Maritime Affairs, hosted a pivotal webinar on July 16, 2025, to highlight investment opportunities in Pakistan’s ports.
The initiative aims to enhance trade relations between the U.S. and Pakistan by connecting American companies with leaders in the Pakistani maritime sector. Over 65 U.S. companies expressed strong interest in this area. The event, titled “Gateways to Growth: South Asia Port Opportunities,” included direct discussions with officials from the Port Qasim Authority, Abu Dhabi Ports (the operator of Karachi Gateway Terminal Ltd), and Dubai Ports World (the operator of Qasim International Container Terminal). Participants received valuable insights into regulatory frameworks, infrastructure plans, and economic incentives.
The session offered U.S. businesses an opportunity to connect directly with Pakistani port authorities and operators. Speakers highlighted Pakistan’s advantages for trade, such as its modern infrastructure and strategic location as a regional gateway for commerce. This collaboration aims to enhance trade flows and foster long-term partnerships.
