Carlos Alcaraz, the Spanish second seed, beat Novak Djokovic 6-4, 7-6 (7/4), 6-2 in a swift two hours and 23 minutes to reach the US Open final. The 22-year-old’s win stopped Djokovic’s quest for a record 25th Grand Slam title. “Beating Novak is special, but it’s just a step to the final,” Alcaraz said. He hasn’t dropped a set all tournament, but believes he can play better.
Djokovic, 38, admitted he struggles to match the younger players’ energy. “My tennis is good, but physically, I can’t keep up,” he said. He plans to chase more Grand Slams in 2026.

World number one Jannik Sinner earned his final spot by defeating Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 on Arthur Ashe Stadium. Sinner, who won the Australian Open earlier this year, became the fourth man to reach all four Grand Slam finals in a season, joining Rod Laver, Roger Federer, and Djokovic. “Grand Slams are the biggest tournaments,” Sinner said.
