Pakistani residents renewing B1/B2 tourist and business visas at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad and Consulate General in Karachi can now receive interview waivers.

“All Pakistani citizens, regardless of age, whose B1/B2 visas are valid or have expired within the last 48 months are eligible to participate.” the U.S. embassy said.

Planning to renew your B1/B2 visa for the U.S.? Pakistani citizens of all ages whose B1/B2 visas are valid or have expired within the last 48 months are now eligible for interview waivers at @usembislamabad & @usconsulatekhi More here: https://t.co/Q15vYG4dNz

— U.S. Embassy Islamabad (@usembislamabad) January 12, 2023

Previously, only Pakistani citizens over 45 could participate.

Interview waiver eligibility for former USU.S.isa holders applying for student and petition-based work visas is extended through 2023.

The extension of interview waiver eligibility improves customer service and streamlines tourist and business visa renewals for qualifying Pakistani citizens.

Some qualified visa holders must appear at the USU.S.mbassy or USU.S.onsulate General for interviews after applying under U.S. law.
