The chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan is going to address the nation today… live from his Bani Gala residence on matters pertaining to the highly controversial Panama leaks.
The decision came after Interior Minister, Chaudhary Nisar, turned down IK’s request for broadcast of his address on the state-owned Pakistan Television (PTV).
According to PTI media wing, all arrangements have been finalized for Khan’s address to the nation from his Islamabad residence at 6pm. All private TV channels would broadcast his speech live unlike the PTV.
Reports say Khan is expected to criticize Sharif family, especially Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, for allegedly holding offshore assets and setting up an inquiry commission under a retired judge of Supreme Court.
Khan is also likely to respond to government’s claims about use of funds collected for Shaukat Khanam Memorial Hospital (SKMH).
