The University of Karachi suspends classes on March 2 following an official announcement citing solidarity with victims of recent attacks in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to a notification issued by the registrar, all teaching and academic activities at KU have been halted for the day. The university stated that the move is intended as a tribute to those who lost their lives in the attacks.
The suspension includes both regular classes and scheduled examinations.

All examinations scheduled for March 2 have been postponed. The university confirmed that revised dates will be announced in due course.
The registrar urged students and staff to observe the day in a spirit of respect and solidarity with the victims.
The decision follows confirmation from Iranian authorities that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was martyred in joint Israeli and US air strikes that began on February 28. Iranian state media also reported that more than 200 men, women and children were killed in the attacks.
In response, Iran declared 40 days of public mourning. Reports indicate that seven days of official public holidays have also been announced.
