A job applicant’s unique experience with the grocery delivery app Zepto has caught the attention of many. Yash Acharya took to X (formerly Twitter) to detail an unexpected twist during his application process, which included an email from the company’s CTO. His post has since gained traction, garnering roughly 84,000 views and 1,600 likes, with numerous users sharing their thoughts.
On Wednesday evening, August 16, Acharya uploaded an email snapshot, highlighting Zepto’s job offer for a ‘Delivery Boy (Mumbai)’ role, humorously noting he had applied for a ‘product designer’ position. Two hours later, another post emerged showing a message from Zepto’s co-founder and CTO, Kaivalya Vohra, asking for Acharya’s resume/portfolio.
Acharya’s surprise was evident, questioning the legitimacy of Vohra’s message. Responses ranged from encouragement to witty remarks about explaining his role to his parents. Notably, Vohra and co-founder Aadit Palicha were listed in the IIFL Wealth-Hurun India Rich List 2022. At age 20, Vohra is one of the youngest, with a net worth estimated at ₹1,000 crore.
