The UAE will not allow attacks on Iran using its airspace or territory, officials said during a media briefing in Abu Dhabi.
Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Co-operation, described the country’s stance as clear and measured. She said the United Arab Emirates would not permit its land or airspace to be used in any military action against Iran.
Al Hashimy stressed that while the UAE has the right to defend itself and protect its sovereignty, there is no military solution to the crisis. She warned that further escalation would harm regional stability.
She also described Iran’s ballistic missile programme as a threat to the wider region, adding that Gulf security is “indivisible.”
The minister confirmed that the UAE had closed its embassy in Tehran and withdrawn its ambassador following recent Iranian attacks.

Defence Readiness and Missile Interceptions
Major General Abdul Nasser Al Humaidi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence, said the UAE would never accept any compromise to its sovereignty and security.
He confirmed that recent sounds heard across parts of the country were linked to missile interceptions. He added that the armed forces remain at a high level of combat readiness.
According to officials, the UAE maintains strategic defence reserves capable of countering aerial threats for an extended period.
Economy and Tourism Minister Abdulla bin Touq said the country holds sufficient strategic reserves of basic food and essential goods to meet demand for 4 to 6 months.
