Karachi: Workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) came to face again at Kairmabad area of Karachi on Friday and chanted slogans against each other.

Some MQM workers burned a PTI’s flag, leading to a brawl.

According to our correspondent, police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the crowd and arrested two MQM’s supporters.

PTI workers have been advised to remain at their camp office due to tense situation, he said.

PTI leader Imran Ismail said on phone that he would not be cowed down by MQM’ hooliganism.

“Many of PTI’s workers have been wounded by the MQM’s attack,” he said. “MQM workers have stormed our election camp. Wherever we go, MQM goons just follow us,” he said.

Ismail said that Jinnah Ground was not MQM’s property, it was owned by the state.

Despite MQM’s tactics of intimidation, PTI would do the campaign and win the election, he added.

Rangers were also called to get things under control.
