The federal government has approved two new Islamabad housing societies for employees as part of a wider effort to expand housing opportunities in the capital. The projects in Sectors F-12 and G-12 are expected to open formally this month.
The move is aimed at addressing rising housing demand in Islamabad. It also reflects a broader push to provide more organised and affordable housing, especially for government employees and professionals.
Officials from the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority said the layout plan for Sector F-12 has already been finalised. Meanwhile, the layout for Sector G-12 is in its final stage and is expected to be completed soon. The Housing Authority’s executive board approved both projects last month. That approval cleared the way for their official rollout this month.
The upcoming sectors are expected to serve a broad group of beneficiaries, including government officers and employees from different departments.
This makes the project significant not only for public-sector workers seeking housing, but also for Islamabad’s broader planning strategy. By expanding regulated housing options, authorities appear to be trying to ease pressure on the city’s growing population.
Development work has already begun in Sectors F-14 and F-15. These projects are part of the same broader effort to improve Islamabad’s housing infrastructure. Authorities say these developments are central to a wider strategy focused on population growth, housing demand, and planned urban expansion in the capital. In that sense, the approval of F-12 and G-12 is part of a much larger housing agenda.
