Twelve people sustained injuries in an explosion targeting a police van near Eastern Bypass in Quetta, according to hospital and government officials on Wednesday.
Shahid Rind, a spokesman for the Balochistan government, confirmed that the attack was directed at a police vehicle. Following the incident, the Balochistan Health Department listed the 12 injured individuals.
Rind denounced the attack, noting that one of the injured was a police officer.
The spokesperson stated that authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, and bomb disposal squads are actively gathering evidence at the scene.
Dr. Waseem Baig, the health department’s media coordinator, reported that the injured were initially treated at the Civil Hospital’s emergency department before being transferred to Quetta Trauma Centre for further care.
