Trump Tariffs May Spike iPhone Prices by 40%

President Donald Trump’s new global tariffs could significantly increase iPhone prices. Analysts anticipate a 30% to 40% rise if Apple decides to pass the costs on to consumers.

With China, where most iPhones are manufactured, facing a 54% tariff, the tech giant faces a difficult decision: absorb the costs or increase prices.

The iPhone 16 starts at $799, and Rosenblatt Securities estimates that a 43% price increase could raise it to $1,142. The premium iPhone 16 Pro Max, currently priced at $1,599, could nearly reach $2,300.

Other Apple products are also at risk of price hikes: watches may increase by 43%, iPads by 42%, and AirPods and Macs by 39%. Apple might offset its $39.5 billion tariff bill by increasing prices.

The news about tariffs shook Wall Street. Apple’s stock fell 9.3% on Thursday, marking its most significant decline since March 2020. With sales exceeding 220 million iPhones yearly, the company’s main markets, the U.S., China, and Europe, could be impacted.
