A high-ranking White House official disclosed that President Donald Trump is considering commuting Sean “Diddy” Combs’ 50-month prison sentence for violations of the Mann Act. This decision could come as soon as this week.
TMZ reported that the official mentioned that Trump is “vacillating,” with some staff members advising against it, but added, “Trump will do what he wants.”
Diddy, who has served 13 months, could be released in about two years with good behaviour, but a commutation would end his sentence sooner.

Diddy’s legal team contacted a top White House aide shortly after his sentencing earlier this month. Trump acknowledged the request to the media days later. This follows Trump’s commutation of former Congressman George Santos’ sentence last Friday.

Diddy’s fall from favour stemmed from his 2020 Biden endorsement, but Trump hasn’t ruled out mercy. The Mann Act conviction marked a low point for the music mogul, whose sentence reflects federal trafficking violations.
A commutation would emphasise Trump’s use of clemency for prominent figures, igniting discussions on justice. Diddy’s early release might rejuvenate his career.
