Nikki Haley, the former US ambassador to the UN, suffered a major defeat in the New Hampshire primary to Donald Trump, who won.
As reported by US media, Nikki Haley, former US Ambassador to the United Nations, experienced a significant setback as former President and leading Republican candidate Donald Trump secured victory in the New Hampshire primary.
Responding earlier to a query about Haley’s Super Tuesday plans, Trump said he was indifferent to her decision. In a Londonderry, New Hampshire polling station visit with Marjorie Taylor Greene, Trump labelled Joe Biden as the country’s worst president.
“We’re going to make a comeback,” Trump, 77, declared.
Haley commented at a New Hampshire event, noting Democrats’ preference to face Trump, implying his nomination would ensure Biden’s victory.
Following Trump’s win, Biden’s campaign acknowledged Trump’s near-certain GOP nomination for 2024. Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Biden’s campaign manager, stated the MAGA movement’s complete takeover of the Republican Party.
Rodriguez’s statement highlighted Trump’s likely face-off against Biden, the only candidate who previously defeated him.
