Rapper Trippie Redd broke his silence Monday on two major controversies – his complicated relationship with ex-girlfriend Coi Leray and Kanye West’s recent comments about pioneering rage music.
The “Love Scars” artist clarified why he missed Coi Leray’s recent baby shower, revealing Leray and her family had blocked him from attending. “All communications were redirected to her attorney,” Redd explained on social media, noting he had already distanced himself from the relationship earlier this year.

Trippie grew more animated when addressing Kanye West’s claim that he invented rage music with 2013’s “Blood on the Leaves.” The Ohio-born rapper countered that the genre’s true pioneers include himself, XXXTENTACION, Playboi Carti, and Lil Uzi Vert.

Industry observers suggested that this public disagreement might explain why the two artists have never collaborated, with Trippie hinting at “ego issues” that prevent joint projects.

Despite the ongoing drama, the 24-year-old artist seems to have moved on romantically, recently introducing his new girlfriend on Instagram. Despite the lingering tensions with Leray and ongoing debates in the music industry, Trippie remains dedicated to his flourishing career, with several projects reportedly in development.
