Tragedy at Sea View: 9 merry makers drown in different incidents

9 persons drowned on Wednesday’s evening at Karachi Sea View, however  five including three children were rescued alive.

Despite the imposition of section 144 at the city’s sea sides, public violated the law repeatedly by going in the deep sea water and risking their lives. The life guards reminded the people to stay within the shallow waters, but their pleas fell on deaf ears and indeed not only were they ignored but outrightly abused as well!

Nevertheless the rescue staff today saved the lives of at least five people by taking timely action at the risk of their own precious lives. However the understaffed and under resourced life guard service could not prevent the untimely deaths of nice people who drowned in the sea. The team did however, manage to recover their bodies.

SP Clifton said that red flags have been placed to point out dangerous locations but people repeatedly crossed those points, thus causing incidents.
