Four people died, and 14 were injured when a truck overturned on a highway near Khairpur on Sunday.
The police attribute the crash to excessive speeding and overtaking. Among the deceased were Amjad Maitlo, Zeeshan Soomer, Abdul Ghaffar Maitlo, and the truck driver Muhammad Sohail.
Rescue teams transported the casualties to Civil Hospital, Khairpur, where three of the injured are reported to be in critical condition. The hospital declared an emergency in response and summoned off-duty doctors and paramedical staff to assist.
The truck was en route from Karachi to Sukkur at the time of the accident. The victims, all from a village near Rohri, were traders returning home after selling cattle in Karachi in preparation for Eid ul Adha.
