In a tragic accident near the Mauripur truck stand, a coaster van carrying picnickers to Hawkes Bay overturned, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals.
Rescue sources reported that the van was en route to the beach when it capsized near the new truck stand in Mauripur. Among the deceased were three children and three women. Numerous others suffered injuries.
The incident claimed the lives of three children immediately, while four more victims later died from their injuries during transport to the hospital.
Following the crash, rescue teams, police, and locals converged at the site of the Mauripur accident, extricated the dead and injured from the wreckage and transported them to the civil hospital.

According to police, the coaster collided with a trailer that unexpectedly pulled out from a side street. The trailer driver fled the scene, but authorities have taken the trailer into custody.
An eyewitness noted that the coaster, travelling at high speed, struck the trailer and then the footpath.
Police mentioned that 40 to 45 passengers were on board, all residents of Azizabad. The dead included three children, three women, and one man, with many of the injured in critical condition.
