Karachi: The police in the city will be stepping into the 21st century as it plans to install twenty traffic cameras in different areas.
The traffic cameras which are common in developed countries will take a picture of vehicles violating traffic laws. A challan (traffic fine) and picture of the violation will be sent to the house where the vehicle is registered.
This feature will help increase the number of traffic fines being issued in the city as violators will not be able to use bribes or influence.
The traffic police have bought twenty high quality cameras and five of them have already been installed for trial purposes.
