Toxic liquor kills 19 in Karachi

At least 18 people have died due to consumption of toxic liquor in the last 24 hours in Karachi.

According to Jinnah Hospital Karachi sources, eight patients are undergoing treatment and three are in critical condition.

 The deceased belonged from Zaman Town, Landhi, Korangi, Bilal Colony and Shah Faisal Town area of Karachi.

Last week, in Hyderabad more than 20 people died due to the consumption of toxic liquor.

Consequently, the Sindh government sacked Minister of Excise and Taxation, Mukesh Kumar Chawla over negligence in issuing licenses to substandard wine shops in Hyderabad.
