Timothée Chalamet has stepped into territory long dominated by Leonardo DiCaprio, less than a week after defeating him in the Best Actor category at the Golden Globes.
Chalamet’s latest film, Marty Supreme, has surpassed DiCaprio’s One Battle After Another at the domestic box office, marking another milestone in the growing on-screen rivalry between the two stars.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the update was recorded on Tuesday, with Marty Supreme closing the day with an estimated domestic total of $72.27 million. The film moved ahead of One Battle After Another, which has earned slightly more than $71.6 million in the US to date.
The A24 sports drama now stands as the top domestic earner, while DiCaprio’s action thriller still leads globally with an estimated $154.5 million in worldwide revenue.

However, industry analysts believe Marty Supreme could soon narrow that gap. Box office experts cited by The Hollywood Reporter said early international returns suggest the film may perform strongly overseas. Projections place its potential global earnings between $170 million and $180 million, with room for further upside.
Chalamet’s box office success follows closely on the heels of his Golden Globes triumph. The actor won Best Actor – Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, edging out DiCaprio, who competed in the same category.
The back-to-back achievements underline Chalamet’s rising influence in Hollywood. With critical acclaim and growing commercial success, he continues to challenge established stars and reshape the industry’s leading ranks.
