Three Karachi girls killed near Saiful Muluk Lake

At least three female tourists died after being trapped under avalanche near Saiful Muluk lake, situated in the Kaghan Police Station, Tehsil Balakot, District Mansehra.

According to SHO Kaghan Tariq Khan, these women were snapping pictures near the popular lake when avalanche fell on them. The women, identified as Rozina Bano wife of Saleem, Irum Bano wife of Waqas and Nirma Bano, died on the spot.

He said, locals rushed to the spot and made attempts to rescue them, but the women were already dead. He said, the bodies were handed over to the heirs.

Officials of the Naran Police check post led by Mustafa along with police also rushed on the spot to recover the bodies.

Tourists have often complained about the dangerous and rough road leading to famous Saiful Muluk Lake in the scenic Kaghan valley.

Saiful Muluk Lake, which is situated at an elevation of 3,224 meters (10,578 feet) above the sea level, is quite a popular spot for tourists but according to them, 10km road to the Lake (Naran-Saiful Muluk Road) is dangerous due to its dilapidated condition. (APP)
