The Sindh government has asked all teachers in Sindh province to complete their biometric records within four weeks.
According to the Secretary of Education, Akbar Leghari has delegated the authority to collect teachers’ biometrics to district education authorities in Sindh.
The DEOs have been instructed to provide entire instructor records within four months.
Previously, the Sindh education department halted the payment of salaries to more than 2,000 “ghost” instructors throughout the province.
According to available information, the Sindh education department sent a letter to the provincial accountant general to discontinue paying 2,019 ghost teachers.
In response to the education department’s letter, the Attorney General of Sindh has frozen the wages of the phantom instructors.
The Sindh education secretary, Akbar Laghari, stated that teachers who receive their pay at home would be fired.
