The election commission has announced the official Local Government election results in three districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The results of 664 out of 669 local council seats have been declared elected in the first phase of local council elections.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is in the lead with 197 seats, while the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) comes in second with 194 seats. In the region’s local councils, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has 127 seats, while independent candidates have won 121 seats.
Muslim Conference has been proclaimed the victor of 22 seats, while JKPP, Tehreek-e-Labaik, and Jamaat Islami have each won one seat.
The results for 73 of the total 74 district councilor seats have been announced. PTI has won 32 district councilor seats, followed by PPP with 22 victorious candidates and PML-N with 11 councilor seats.
Four independent candidates won district council seats, while three Muslim Conference candidates were also elected. In addition, JKPP secured a seat on the district council.
From a total of 535 seats, the results for 531 union council and local council members have been declared. People’s Party has won the most union council seats with 158, followed by the PTI with 148, PML-N with 98, and the Muslim Conference with 17. Additionally, 108 independents have been elected to union council seats. JI and TL have both secured seats on the union council.
