The federal cabinet has ratified the decision of the Exit Control List (ECL) committee to remove the names of twelve leaders from the ECL from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
The individuals whose names have been cleared include notable figures such as Hammad Azhar, Azam Swati, Fawad Chaudhry, Shireen Mazari, and Pervez Khattak.
The development follows a March 27 request from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to the federal government advocating for the removal of these PTI leaders’ names. Initially placed on the ECL at the behest of NAB, these individuals were not formally accused in the case concerning 190 million pounds. Citing the lack of necessity for their continued inclusion, the NAB recommended their removal from the ECL.
The Federal Cabinet’s ECL committee has approved the removal of these PTI leaders from the exit control list, marking a significant decision in the context of the Al-Qadir Trust case and reflecting the ongoing developments within Pakistan’s political and legal spheres.
The prominent PTI leaders whose names are removed from the ECL include Hammad Azhar, Azam Swati, Fawad Chaudhary, Shireen Mazari, Pervaiz Khattak and others.
