Compounded by multiple problems including rampant poverty and malnutrition, the merciless killer famine is still on rage in Tharparkar as another infant passed away pushing the death toll to 48.
The newly born child was under treatment in Civil Hospital of Mithi. His death mounted the overall death tally to 48 within 38 days in Tharparkar.
Reportedly, there are still 35 children being given medical care at Mithi Civil Hospital. At least seven bony weak children at Taluka Diplo hospital, fifteen in Chachro hospital, nine in Nangar Parkar hospital and around 11 children are receiving healthcare in Islampura hospital.
