Police have recovered a teenage maid from the residence of anchorperson Gharidah Farooqui.

Teenage maid’s parents lodged an application for the recovery of their teenage daughter who was illegal detention by the anchorperson Gharidah Farooqui.

Muhammad Munir, the father of 15-year old Sonia, filed a habeas corpus petition in a local court, alleging that her daughter was illegally confined at the residence of the respondent, Gharidah Farooqui, who not only subjected her to torture but kept her from meeting her parents.

The court was pleaded to direct the police to recover the detainee from the illegal and improper custody of the anchorperson and produce her in the court.

In his petition, he submitted that the life of his daughter was in danger, if she was not removed from the possession of the respondent anchorperson. If she was not recovered, she would suffer an irreparable loss and injury, the petitioner said making impatient request to the judge to order police to have his daughter released from the illegal detention

He stated that he had went to see her on July 12 at her employer’s residence but the respondent did not allow him to meet his daughter with the help of local police. He alleged that the police also illegally detained him at the police station for two days.

The petitioner said that he had sent his daughter to work as a maid at the anchorperson’s residence in return for Rs 8000 per month and besides providing meal and lodging to her.

Following the orders of additional sessions judge Hafeezur Rehman, the police recovered and produced the child in the court and afterwards, she was allowed to walk away with her parents.
