Teefi Butt, nominated alongside Khawaja Aqeel (Gogi Butt) and others in the February 19, 2024, FIR for Balaj’s targeted killing near Thokar Niaz Beg, Lahore, fled abroad post-murder. Declared a proclaimed offender, he was arrested in Dubai by DSP Khalid Warya and local police during a raid.
Punjab Police secured Interpol red warrants after the Ministry of Interior’s approval. Butt arrived in Karachi via private airline on October 10 and was handed to the Joint Investigation Team (JIT). CCD sought custody, but Lahore police declined transfer.
