Khawaja Tareef Gulshan, also known as Teefi Butt, is the prime suspect in the murder of Ameer Balaj. He was extradited from Dubai to Lahore. Balaj was fatally shot in a targeted attack near Thokar Niaz Beg, Lahore, on February 19, 2024. Butt, along with Khawaja Aqeel (Gogi Butt) and others, has been named in the murder FIR.
After fleeing abroad following the murder, Butt was declared a proclaimed offender. With the approval of the Ministry of Interior, the Punjab Police obtained Interpol red warrants for his arrest. On Thursday night, Butt arrived at Karachi Airport on a private airline and was subsequently transferred to Lahore.
The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) investigating the case took custody of the suspect. Although the Crime Control Department (CCD) requested custody, the Lahore investigation police declined to transfer the case.

DSP Khalid Warya, collaborating with Dubai police, arrested Butt during a raid on a gathering in Dubai. Butt had moved there after his UK visa expired.
